New Delhi: The movement of farmers in the country against agricultural laws is increasing. With this, the process of returning the award has also started. Former Punjab Chief Minister and senior Akali Dal leader Prakash Singh Badal have returned his Padma Vibhushan award in protest against agricultural laws.
Apart from him, Akali Dal leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa has now said that he will return his Padma Bhushan award.
According to the information, he wrote a three-page letter to President Ramnath Kovind, opposed the agricultural laws, condemned action on farmers, and gave his honor back with this.
Prakash Singh Badal’s party Shiromani Akali Dal has been opposing the agricultural laws from the very beginning. They say that the central government is deceiving the farmers in the name of reforming the agricultural law. In opposition to this, the party also distanced itself from the NDA coalition of the Center.
Returning his Padma Vibhushan, former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal wrote, ‘I am so poor that I have nothing else to sacrifice for the farmers, whatever I am because of the farmers. In such a situation, if there is an insult to the farmers, then there is no use of having any kind of respect. ‘
