MC Stan, whose real name is Altaf Shaikh, is an Indian rapper, singer, and songwriter who hails from Pune, Maharashtra. He rose to fame after participating in the popular reality TV show Bigg Boss in 2021, where he emerged as the winner.
Born on December 30, 1999, in Pune, MC Stan had a difficult childhood as his family faced extreme poverty. He was forced to leave school after completing the 10th standard to support his family financially. He began his music career as a part of the underground rap scene in Pune, where he gained a loyal following for his hard-hitting and socially conscious lyrics.

MC Stan’s music often addresses social and political issues such as inequality, poverty, and corruption. He is known for his distinctive voice and delivery style, which blends elements of Western and Indian music. He has released several hit singles, including “Khuja Mat”, “Wata”, “Big Bang”, “Kala Jadu”, and “Time”.
However, MC Stan has also faced controversy for his explicit lyrics and use of offensive language. In March 2022, Karni Sena, a right-wing group in India, protested against his show in Indore, alleging that he used derogatory language in his performance. The group threatened to beat him up wherever he appeared. The incident sparked a debate on the freedom of expression and censorship in the Indian music industry.
Despite the controversy, MC Stan has a massive following on social media, with over 1.5 million followers on Instagram and 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube. He continues to release new music and collaborate with other artists.
